Traveling with friends (6), On our way out of town we stopped in here for breakfast, after realizing they serve lunch and dinner all day, 3 of us had breakfast 3 of us had lunch. I ordered the Stuffed Sopapila with the green chile sauce stuffed with ground beef, which they mistakenly stuffed with shredded beef, but quickly fixed it when brought to their attention, my wife had the same except with the red chile sauce, it too was very good, one of our friends had the corned beef hash breakfast, very good hash not greasy like most. Staff was friendly yet some seemed "unintrested" or maybe just burned out, but not rude. I wasn't feeling very well so I could only eat a few bites enough to know it was very good, I asked for a take out container and took the rest home. Salsa was very good and also like having a milder salsa, very good touch. By the way, the reheated portion I took home was just as good as when served, it was so big my wife and I shared it for Dinner that night, wish I had asked for some salsa to take home.Next time, because there will be a next time.

When Sal and Teresa's opened up at the old high in the pines location, they were so good! It reminded me of El Rancho of old, especially the chips and salsa. When they first moved to the good old R&R location (anyone else wish R&R was still around???), they were still really good. The last few times we have been here it has progressively, or regressivley I guess, gotten worse and worse. The last time we were here I was so disappointed I almost cried (i'm a sensitive little guy). I don't want to give up on these guys so when I am up here next week, I'm going to swing by and will, afterwards, either update for the good or worse.

Unless it has changed since I was there a few years ago, it tasted like Gringo food to me.

My friend and I walked in at noon on Sunday. The menu said the special was Teresa's chile relleno. That's what we ordered and they then we're told they didn't have any. the service was very friendly however what we did end up ordering was not great at all. My friend ordered the Navajo taco with no sauce then it came drenched in sauce she had it returned and then ordered a tostada which was very ordinary and piled high with tons of semi wilted iceberg she could hardly eat it. I went ahead and ordered the standard chimichanga and it was just so so. we will probably not come back again very disappointed

I would love to find a Mexican restaurant in the Show Low area that makes me want to go back for more. This is not one of them. We've given this restaurant several tries and we won't be back. The chips served when we arrived didn't look fresh and the salsa looked like it came out if a jar. When my meal came I sent it back because it didn't look appetizing. Presentation is very important to me. Even my husband, who will eat anything, had to admit my food looked bad? He ate what he was served then complained about how it looked on the way home.

If you love Mexican food then this is your restaurant. The chips are made in house and the salsa is terrific. We came on a Saturday night and they had live music. On top of this, they have a great house margarita that uses my favorite kind of crushed ice. The White Mountains are fortunate to have this great establishment.

We were up north for the weekend for my wife's Birthday and came here for Cinco de Mayo. We walked in the day before to grab a menu and were greeted by the friendly wait-staff. When we arrived the next day, the place was packed and there were several guests waiting to be seated. We sat at the bar because we were able to grab a seat right away. They had live music which was great. They had several specials for Cinco de Mayo that we took advantage of. The food and drinks were very good. We had the tacos, tostadas, and enchiladas for dinner and the sopapillas for dessert. We were completely full, and had to take some of our sopapillas home with us. Even though we enjoyed the specials that night, their regular menu items also sounded delicious and were about $10 per person. Our server that night was great. She was very friendly and helpful. She was running in 20 different directions because they were so busy for the holiday and she still found time to check on us and make sure we were doing okay. If we are in the area again, we will defiantly consider going back.

Had lunch here today. Chicken chimi, enchilada style. Very yummy, no complaints about the food or service. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. They could make it a little nicer inside, other than that, it was great.

Giving this 5 stars simply for the fact that it is one of the best Mexican options in the area and we want to see it stay. Good food. Great salsa and chips. Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy it is. We for sure will be going back.

I really wanted to like this place but sadly the food was greasy and heavily salty. I had a shredded beef taco and a chili relleno and my husband had the carnitas burrito - all of it was edible but not great. The chips and salsa were very good. Sopapillas were greasy but pretty tasty. Unless you're desperate I would skip this restaurant unless you want just a beer and some chips and salsa.

I was surprised when I went in. The booth was held together with several duct tape patches. My taco salad was all lettuce a small portion of meat and undercooked beans. My husband ordered a red chile burrito and ate two bites of it. He tried to order two different beers only to be told they ran out yesterday. When he finally got his beer, it wasn't even cold. The best part? The mixed chips and salsa. The water tasted good too. Save your money- go elsewhere.

The food and the service sucked! We were the only people in there, 3 of us, and it took over 30 minutes to get our food. The chile rellano had a fried egg on it instead of the egg batter. Very disappointed. Will not go back.

Just OK. They have reasonably priced lunch specials which is the only time I go there but the food is just OK. Nothing to rave about. Priced right.

I do breakfast lunch and dinner here all the time .. a great place and reasonable prices.. they have a Tuesday special that is beyond cheap.. but plan on a wait as all in the area know it and gets packed.. Personally I prefer the other days as there is little wait time and a lot more attention given for the dining experience.. Prices are reasonable enough to come any time though .. I have always had a great experience and they aim to please...

Sal and Theresa's, you have failed..... I had lunch here a couple times and it was fine, that's why they keep a star. The fail is my breakfast burrito experience, I have been searching for the best breakfast burrito in Show Low and I tried them one morning. After ringing me up and running my card, I see there is a .50 charge on my ticket, I asked what is that? Counter guy: "Thats the to go charge" Me: Really? it's a burrito, you wrap it in paper, toss it in a bag and hand it to me. Counter guy: we put it in a box Me: shrugs Counter guy: But at least the food here is cheap Me: really? (thinking to myself) that's your comment to support a to go charge on a burrito? You would be a lot smarter to just shut up where we left off ..now you're just irritating me. And BTW, 6 bucks for a breakfast burrito is not "cheap", or expensive, it's average. Counter guy: well you'll know next time. Me: Shrugs again....interesting attitude.. I leave with my box,... in a bag, .. I get to the airport and the counter guy forgot any napkins, and I get what is in the photo, Gheeze' man, you could have at least thrown a friggin' piece of parsley in there....I'd a paid a dime just to not see this forelorn burrito all by it's lonesome in this 50 cent box. I shrugged once more and ate it, knowing there would be no next time for Sal and Theresa's for me.

Definitely disappointed. We went for $1 taco day. The taco meat was grey and greasy. I decided to try an enchilada but couldn't find any cheese. I gave them two stars because I have had breakfast there before and it was excellent. I may return for breakfast, but definitely not for Mexican food. Update: Returned to give this restaurant another chance. We went for $1 night to find that the enchiladas have gone up to $1.50. I ordered 3. I thought they had brought me taquitos, not enchiladas. I ordered the green sauce which was very mild. The amount of cheese was ok. Browsing the menu I noticed just about everything has gone up $1. Our waiter was very attentive and gave excellent service. The register line was long & the lady seem to be having trouble. After waiting over ten minutes I caught a waitress & handed her the money & check. We left and this time I'm not going back

We have had the daily special ($6) here twice to our delight; recommend the tortilla soup. Service is very good and everything tastes homemade.

I came here on a Tuesday for the $1 deals. We had more food than we could eat and spent less than $10 for 2 people. Really good value and really good mexican food. The flour tortillas they serve here are awesome!

This is the second time I ate at Sal and Theresa's. The last time was at the old location on Hall. I had the Mexican Pizza which was wonderful. This was my first time at the new location on Deuce of Clubs in the mall with the Family Dollar store. The new location is much roomier, but still as comfortable as the old location. They have Dollar Tuesday on Tuesdays, so I selected a bean tostada, red chili cheese enchilada, green chile cheese enchilada, rice and beans. Each item cost $1. All of them were very tasty. They served complimentary chips and two kinds of salsa on the table when we arrived. The chips were fresh and crisp. Both salsa's were delicious, but the hot salsa was to write home about. Yum. I need to eat here ALOT more often!

Everytime I walked in I was immediately greeted and given the option to sit where ever I want which is pretty cool. After sitting down the chips and salsa arrive in no time. The salsa is very tasty and also comes with a tube of hotter salsa which is nice since I like enjoy spicy foods. The green chili enchiladas were totally awesome and the beans and rice tasted very decent. Also, their daily specials are actually something I order sometimes. The atmosphere is very relaxed and laid back. Also, the food matched it's price without decreasing the quality of the ingredients. The sopapillas were very good and service is fast and friendly. The bands that play there really give me a sense of being in the mountains. The bands I've seen play there are not mariachi bands but mostly local bands from Show Low area and sometimes young musicians get a chance to play as well which is pretty cool. In the end the food was pretty good and service very friendly and attentive. I did receive suggestions and recommendations for drink specials and food specials. I will continue to come back..

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
